Ghana’s National Sports Authority (NSA) has confirmed that the iconic Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi is fully prepared to host football matches and other major sporting events.

The announcement comes after a series of renovations and safety inspections aimed at meeting both national and international standards. The NSA stated that all facilities, including seating, pitch quality, lighting, and security systems, have been upgraded to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for players and fans alike.

“Baba Yara Stadium is ready to host football matches at all levels, from domestic league games to international fixtures,” an NSA official said. “We are committed to providing a world-class environment that meets the expectations of teams, officials, and supporters.”

The stadium, which is the home of Asante Kotoko SC and a venue for major national team matches, recently underwent maintenance works to enhance spectator comfort and safety. Authorities confirmed that crowd management measures, emergency response protocols, and media facilities have all been improved.

Football stakeholders have welcomed the declaration, noting that a fully operational Baba Yara Stadium will boost the standard of football in Ghana and provide an ideal venue for high-profile matches.

With the stadium now cleared for use, local clubs, national teams, and event organizers can look forward to hosting matches in a facility that meets modern sporting requirements.
