The national boxing team of Ghana, the Black Bombers have been invited to take part in the IBA Youth World International competition in Montenegro in Europe and they are expected to leave Accra for Budva on October 18, 2024.

According to leader of the team, Alhaji Fuseni Dauda, who is Vice President of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF), the youth team who have been training for a long time under Coach Charles Quartey will raise high the flag of Ghana.

He noted that the new Black Bombers need to be tested, tried and exposed to gain the much needed exposure and experience.
Alhaji Dauda expressed that the six boxers are already self motivated, but need the support of government to be assured and insured to put in all and win the ultimate.

“Our game is about to rise again, we will take Ghana Boxing to the next level” he assured.

Coach Charles Quartey said the new Black Bombers are those being prepared for the next Olympic Games so they need to be encouraged by the government.

Mustapha Nettey, Treasurer of the GBF also thinks the recent donation by BOXUP came at the right time and the boxers are really happy.

“We really appreciate what Dr. Philip Addison has done and he will be remembered and blessed for ever, because we have been looking for such support for a long time, and we know with his support we can go very far” he said.

The IBA Youth World International Boxing Tournament is from October 20 to November 3, 2024.
