Nations FC head coach Frimpong Manso has downplayed talk of a league title challenge, insisting the club’s immediate focus is on the MTN FA Cup as the season enters a crucial phase.
Speaking ahead of Nations FC’s next fixture, Manso stressed that while the team has shown promising form, it is important to manage expectations and remain realistic about their objectives.
“We are not thinking about the league title at this stage,” Manso said. “Our priority now is the FA Cup. It’s a competition we believe we can approach step by step and see how far we can go.”
The former Ghana international explained that the decision to shift attention to the FA Cup is part of a broader strategy to keep the squad focused and grounded, especially as pressure mounts with increased public and media attention.
Manso noted that Nations FC are still in a development phase, with emphasis on building a strong team identity rather than chasing long-term targets prematurely. He added that success in cup competitions often comes down to discipline, tactical awareness and consistency.
The coach also praised his players for their commitment and professionalism, highlighting their willingness to follow instructions and maintain concentration in high-pressure situations.
Nations FC’s progress in the FA Cup has boosted confidence within the camp, and the club is hopeful of making a deep run in the competition. However, Manso insists that every match will be treated with caution and respect for the opposition.
As the season continues, Nations FC remain focused on steady improvement, with the FA Cup now firmly at the centre of their ambitions.
