President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has strongly condemned the recent “Save Ghana Football” demonstration, describing it as misguided and counterproductive to the progress of football in the country.
Speaking to the media, Okraku expressed disappointment over the protest, which he said misrepresented the efforts being made by the GFA to improve governance, infrastructure, and grassroots development.
“While we welcome constructive dialogue, demonstrations that seek to undermine the work of the GFA do not help football in Ghana,” Okraku said. “Our focus remains on growing the game, supporting clubs, and ensuring that both players and officials operate in a professional environment.”
The GFA boss highlighted several initiatives already underway, including youth development programs, league improvements, and investment in facilities across the country. He urged stakeholders to engage with the association through proper channels rather than resorting to public demonstrations.
Okraku’s comments come amid ongoing debates about transparency, administration, and the performance of Ghanaian football teams, both domestically and internationally. The GFA insists that it is committed to reform and welcomes constructive input from clubs, players, and fans.
“Football is a unifying sport in Ghana, and we must work together to elevate it, rather than create divisions,” Okraku added, appealing for calm and cooperation among all stakeholders.
