Black Stars Climb to 75th in FIFA World Ranking, Maintain 14th Spot in Africa
Ghana’s Black Stars have made a slight gain in the latest FIFA world rankings, moving up one place to 75th following their recent outings in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Otto Addo’s side had been stuck in 76th position across the last two ranking updates, but their performances during the September 2025 international window have nudged them forward.
The Black Stars opened the break with a frustrating draw against Chad before bouncing back to secure a crucial victory over Mali’s Eagles at the Accra Sports Stadium. That result ensured Ghana remain top of Group I as the qualifying campaign progresses.
Despite the small step forward globally, the team’s standing in Africa is unchanged. Ghana continue to occupy 14th place on the continental list, highlighting the challenge ahead if Addo’s men are to re-establish themselves among Africa’s elite.
The head coach, however, remains optimistic that the squad can build on this momentum. With more qualifiers scheduled later in the year, Addo is confident of further improvements both in performance and in the rankings.
