Ghana’s U-15 boys’ team earned a significant $150,000 prize after finishing third at the CAF African Schools Football Championship, capping off an impressive campaign with a bronze-medal triumph.

The young Ghanaians delivered a spirited performance throughout the tournament, demonstrating discipline, resilience, and tactical maturity against some of the continent’s best emerging talents. Their bronze-medal finish reflects the steady progress being made in Ghana’s grassroots football development.

Ghana clinched third place following a hard-fought victory in the playoff match, bouncing back strongly after narrowly missing out on a place in the final. The win not only secured a podium finish but also brought financial reward aimed at supporting football development at the schools level.

The $150,000 prize money is expected to be invested into grassroots and school football programmes across the country, aligning with the Ghana Football Association’s vision of strengthening youth development pathways.

Officials praised the team’s commitment and fighting spirit, noting that the experience gained from competing at continental level will be invaluable to the players’ long-term growth.

“The boys showed great character and determination,” a team official said. “This achievement is not just about the medal, but about the future of Ghana football.”

The CAF African Schools Football Championship continues to play a vital role in identifying and nurturing young talents across Africa, offering players a platform to gain exposure while supporting the development of football infrastructure in schools.

Ghana’s bronze-medal success adds to the country’s proud football heritage and provides further encouragement that sustained investment in youth football is beginning to pay dividends.
