Issahaku Nears Injury Comeback as He Joins Leicester for Pre-Season Camp

Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has rejoined Leicester City’s pre-season training as he continues his return from a long-term knee injury. The 21-year-old, who was sidelined for six months with a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, is now back in full training and poised to make a comeback ahead of the new season.

Issahaku’s 2024/25 campaign was cut short after just 11 appearances due to the injury, but he has now completed his rehabilitation and is gradually building match fitness. His return is a significant boost for Leicester City, who are aiming for a strong start to the 2025/26 season as they push for promotion back to the Premier League.

The talented winger previously played a pivotal role in Leicester’s Championship-winning campaign two seasons ago, contributing 19 goals and assists to help secure their return to top-flight football.

As part of their pre-season preparations, Leicester’s squad is undergoing intensive fitness drills and strength training sessions. The team is also set to play three friendly matches—against Peterborough United, Oud-Heverlee Leuven, and Fiorentina—to sharpen tactics and build momentum ahead of the season opener in six weeks.

For Issahaku, the pre-season presents a crucial opportunity to regain his sharpness, rebuild physical conditioning, and reintegrate into the squad’s tactical system after an extended spell on the sidelines. The former Sporting CP player will be looking to reclaim a key role in Enzo Maresca’s plans and reignite the form that once made him one of the club’s most promising young stars.

Leicester fans will be eager to see Issahaku back in action as he embarks on what could be a defining season in his young career.
