Liverpool Plot January Swoop for Semenyo as Potential Salah Successor

Liverpool Plot January Swoop for Antoine Semenyo as Salah’s Future Hangs in the Balance

Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a January move for Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo, with the Bournemouth striker emerging as a leading candidate to bolster the Reds’ attack amid growing uncertainty over Mohamed Salah’s long-term future at Anfield.

According to reports from Sky Sports, Semenyo has climbed high on Liverpool’s shortlist as manager Arne Slot and the club’s recruitment team explore fresh attacking options ahead of the winter transfer window.

The Ghanaian international has been in sensational form this season, netting six goals in just eight Premier League appearances, including a stunning brace at Anfield on the opening day of the campaign — a performance that reportedly left a lasting impression on Liverpool scouts.

Although Semenyo extended his contract with Bournemouth in July, sources close to the Cherries suggest that his deal includes a release clause, the details of which remain undisclosed. The south coast club, however, are believed to value the 24-year-old at around £75 million, a figure Liverpool may need to meet to secure his signature.

Semenyo’s rapid rise in the Premier League has also caught the attention of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, but insiders claim Liverpool’s interest is the most advanced, particularly as Salah’s form continues to face scrutiny.

The Egyptian winger, now 33, has struggled to hit his usual heights this term, scoring only three goals in 11 appearances — sparking questions about his future and fuelling speculation that Liverpool could soon begin a new attacking era.

If completed, a move for Semenyo would represent both a statement of intent and a strategic step toward rejuvenating Liverpool’s forward line, with the Ghanaian’s pace, power, and pressing style fitting seamlessly into the club’s attacking philosophy.
