Ghanaian forward and Black Stars attacker, Mohammed Fuseini, is on the verge of achieving a lifelong dream as his club, Union Saint-Gilloise, prepares to compete in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League.
Following a historic season in Belgium, where Union Saint-Gilloise clinched the Belgian league title for the first time in 90 years, Fuseini and his teammates have secured a coveted place in Europe’s most prestigious club competition.
For Fuseini, this moment marks the fulfillment of a childhood aspiration.
“This is like one of my dreams come true. Even though I’ve played in the Champions League before, it was just the qualification stage. Now getting to play in the real Champions League means a lot to me,”
he shared with evident excitement.
A Taste of Europe, Now Ready for the Main Stage
The dynamic forward is no stranger to European football, having already featured in Champions League qualifiers and made an impact during a Europa League campaign. But the chance to take center stage in the main Champions League tournament is a whole new thrill.
Looking ahead, Fuseini expressed his eagerness to go head-to-head with Europe’s elite.
“I’m looking forward to playing against big teams like Madrid, PSG, Liverpool and other big clubs. It will be a great experience for me.”
Belief in His Team’s Potential
Despite the scale of the challenge, Fuseini remains confident in Union Saint-Gilloise’s ability to compete under the revamped Champions League format. He believes the team’s strong squad and coaching staff give them a real shot at making it far in the tournament.
“I think we should be able to get through because we have a good squad and a good coach. I think everything is possible.”
As anticipation builds for the upcoming season, Mohammed Fuseini stands ready to seize the moment and shine on football’s biggest club stage. With talent, belief, and history on their side, Union Saint-Gilloise could be one of the surprise packages of the 2025/26 Champions League—and Fuseini will be right at the heart of it.
