Semenyo Scores Again as Manchester City Cruise Past Wolves

Ghana international Antoine Semenyo continued his impressive start at Manchester City with another commanding performance, finding the net in a comfortable 2–0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in Saturday’s English Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium.

The Black Stars forward was lively throughout the encounter, playing with confidence, intensity, and purpose as he further cemented his growing importance in Pep Guardiola’s side.

Manchester City wasted little time asserting their dominance, opening the scoring just six minutes into the contest. Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush rounded off a slick team move after a well-timed assist from Matheus Nunes, handing the champions an early advantage.

City maintained control thereafter, dictating the tempo and monopolizing possession. Semenyo was central to their attacking threat, repeatedly unsettling the Wolves defence with intelligent movement and direct running.

The 25-year-old Ghanaian was rewarded before the half-hour mark. Bernardo Silva’s incisive pass picked him out in space, and Semenyo showed composure and clinical finishing to calmly slot home, doubling City’s lead.

His goal underlined the confidence he is developing in front of goal and further strengthened City’s grip on the match. The second half was managed with typical professionalism by Guardiola’s men, who restricted Wolves to few clear chances while maintaining firm control. Although no additional goals were scored, City never looked threatened as they secured all three points with ease.

Since completing his January move from AFC Bournemouth, Semenyo has adapted quickly to Guardiola’s system. In just four appearances for the Citizens, he has registered an impressive return of three goals and one assist, highlighting both his sharpness and versatility.

His only goalless outing came in the Manchester derby, his high-pressure Premier League debut, where he still impressed with his work rate and physical presence.

Across the league campaign, Semenyo now boasts 14 goal contributions (11 goals and three assists), placing him among the Premier League’s most productive attackers this season. Only teammates Erling Haaland and Thiago Igor have scored more goals, further emphasizing the Ghanaian’s rising profile.

Semenyo’s latest display was another clear statement of intent. His seamless integration, eye for goal, and relentless work ethic are proving invaluable to Manchester City, and if this form continues, he could play a pivotal role in the club’s pursuit of silverware this season.
