Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has revealed that he is yet to make a decision on his future at Arsenal, with his current contract set to expire at the end of June 2025. The 31-year-old, who joined the Gunners from Atlético Madrid in 2020, has been a pivotal presence in midfield despite an injury-hit start to life in North London.
While Partey’s first three seasons at Arsenal were disrupted by fitness setbacks, the 2024/25 campaign marked a turning point. He featured in 35 Premier League matches, providing consistency and stability in midfield. Reflecting on his form, Partey told 3Sports in an exclusive interview:
“People are talking about my availability because I was fit all season. Every training session, every match, I gave my best. Injuries are part of the game, but this year I felt great.”
Amid reports that Arsenal have initiated discussions over a potential one-year contract extension, Partey emphasized that no final decision has been made. His focus, he says, lies in finding the right balance at this stage of his career:
“The most important thing is being happy where you play. At this stage of my career, my next move must balance ambition, family, and security. I’m an Arsenal fan too, but it’s up to the club, my agent, and me to decide. For now, I just want to enjoy my football.”
With Arsenal recently parting ways with Jorginho, speculation is growing that the Gunners are lining up a move for Martín Zubimendi of Real Sociedad. If Zubimendi joins, it could pave the way for an exciting midfield trio alongside Declan Rice and Partey—should the Ghanaian choose to stay.
Since arriving in North London, Thomas Partey has made 130 appearances for the club, scoring nine goals and establishing himself as a fan favorite when fully fit. As the summer transfer window approaches, Arsenal fans will be closely watching to see whether he commits to a new chapter at the Emirates Stadium—or seeks a fresh challenge elsewhere.
