Ghana’s Zinabu Issah delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 Para Athletics competition, clinching gold in the women’s F57 discus throw and reinforcing her status as one of the country’s leading para-athletes.
Issah dominated the field with a composed and powerful display, producing her best throw of the competition to secure the top spot on the podium. Her victory reflects months of disciplined training and determination, as she outperformed a strong lineup of international competitors.
The women’s F57 discus throw event, which features seated throwers with limb impairments, showcased high-level competition, but Issah’s consistency and technique proved decisive on the day.
Officials from the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana praised her achievement, describing the win as a significant milestone for para athletics in the country and a source of inspiration for aspiring athletes with disabilities.
“Zinabu’s performance is a testament to hard work, resilience, and belief. She continues to raise the flag of Ghana high on the international stage,” an NPC official said.
Issah’s triumph adds to Ghana’s growing success in para sports and strengthens the nation’s preparations toward major upcoming events, including continental championships and the Paralympic Games.
With this victory, Zinabu Issah has once again demonstrated that Ghana’s para-athletes are capable of competing and winning at the highest level, inspiring a new generation to pursue excellence through sport.
