The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed a major strengthening of the national teams’ technical setup as it outlines ambitious targets ahead of the next FIFA World Cup cycle.

In a statement issued on Friday, the GFA announced the addition of experienced technical and support staff across various national teams, a move aimed at improving performance, consistency and long-term player development. The association said the decision follows a comprehensive review of recent international campaigns and technical reports.

According to the GFA, the enhanced technical structure will place strong emphasis on modern coaching methods, data analysis, sports science and youth integration. The association believes these improvements are crucial to building competitive teams capable of matching the best on the global stage.

Alongside the technical boost, the GFA set clear and ambitious objectives for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. The primary target, the association stressed, is to secure qualification while laying a solid foundation for sustained success at major international tournaments.

GFA officials noted that lessons learned from previous World Cup and AFCON campaigns have informed the new strategy, with greater focus on continuity, tactical identity and player welfare. The association also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the technical teams with the resources needed to succeed.

The announcement has been welcomed by stakeholders within Ghana football, who see the move as a positive step towards restoring the Black Stars’ competitiveness. With qualification campaigns looming, the GFA expressed confidence that the strengthened technical team and renewed ambition will translate into improved results on the pitch and renewed belief among fans nationwide.
