New RFA Vehicles Will Boost Grassroots Football Development – Mark Addo

Deputy General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mark Addo, has expressed confidence that the newly acquired vehicles for the Regional Football Associations (RFAs) will significantly enhance grassroots football development across the country.

Speaking on the initiative, Addo explained that the distribution of the pickups forms part of the GFA’s broader strategy to strengthen football administration at the regional level and improve support for grassroots competitions.

“The new pickups for the RFAs will go a long way in supporting grassroots football,” Addo said. “They will improve mobility, enhance supervision, and ensure that regional administrators can effectively monitor and manage football activities.”

According to him, one of the major challenges facing regional football administration has been limited logistical capacity, which has affected timely inspections, coordination of matches, and talent identification efforts.

“With these vehicles, regional officials will be better positioned to reach communities, oversee colts football, and provide the necessary technical and administrative support,” he noted.

Addo emphasized that grassroots football remains the foundation of Ghana’s football success, stressing that sustained investment at the base of the game is essential for nurturing future national team players.

“This is about building the future,” he added. “When we strengthen football at the community and regional levels, we create a stronger pipeline of talent for our clubs and national teams.”

He also assured stakeholders that the GFA will continue to invest in infrastructure, logistics, and capacity-building initiatives aimed at improving football development nationwide.

The distribution of the pickups to the RFAs has been welcomed by regional football administrators, who believe the move will enhance efficiency, accountability, and the overall growth of the game at the grassroots level.
