Renowned African football legends have gathered for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Coaches Symposium, an event aimed at sharing knowledge, improving coaching standards, and fostering the development of football across the continent.
The symposium, held in Abidjan, brings together former players, experienced coaches, and technical experts to discuss key topics such as youth development, tactical innovations, and the professionalization of coaching in Africa.
CAF officials emphasized that the event is part of a broader strategy to raise coaching standards and ensure that African football continues to progress on the international stage. “Our goal is to empower coaches with the skills and knowledge needed to develop talent and enhance the quality of football in Africa,” a CAF spokesperson said.
Participants include several former African stars who have transitioned into coaching, providing insights from their playing careers and sharing practical experiences with the next generation of technical leaders. Discussions also cover modern training methodologies, sports science, and strategies for nurturing young talent in challenging environments.
The symposium is expected to have a lasting impact on African football, equipping coaches with tools to improve performance at club and national levels. CAF plans to expand such programs to reach more countries and create a structured pathway for coaching excellence across the continent.
