Sensational Dallas sprint native – Sha’ Carri Richardson will bring her fierceness and fashion to Tracktown having been announced to headline the women’s 100-meter dash at this year’s Prefontaine Classic.
Richardson famously declared, “I’m not back. I’m better” following her 100m win at the 2023 Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field. Since then, she brought home gold at the 2023 World Athletics Championships Budapest23 in both the 100m and 4x100m relay, silver in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games 100-meter, and gold in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games 4x100m relay. The World and Olympic Champion intends on keeping that promise at this year’s Prefontaine Classic women’s 100m.
Richardson is currently ranked second in the world in the women’s 100m. Her wind-legal personal best of 10.65 seconds in the event was set at the 2023 World Athletics Championships.

Among her 10 fastest times ever in the 100m and 200m events, half have been achieved at Hayward Field. It was in the month of July in 2023 that Richardson ran her quickest 100m at Hayward Field in 10.71 seconds.
The 50th edition of The Prefontaine Classic will be held on Saturday, July 5 at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Tickets start at just $25 and may be purchased at PreClassic.com
