Ghana has secured a major boost ahead of the African Senior Athletics Championships, with Hoshii International officially unveiled as headline sponsors and partners for the continental showpiece in Accra.
The announcement, made by Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams, marks a significant milestone in the buildup to the championships, scheduled for May 12–17, 2026, at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Describing the partnership as historic, Bawa Fuseini, President of Ghana Athletics, said: “This is the first time we are seeing a single sponsor come in at this magnitude for athletics in Ghana. It is very significant for us.”
He stressed the uniqueness of the deal, adding: “In the past, sponsorship has come in bits and pieces, but this is one big commitment that goes beyond just the African Championships. That continuity is what makes it very critical for us.”
Fuseini also believes the partnership will open doors for others: “What Hoshii International has done will create more opportunities for Corporate Ghana to come on board and support athletics.”
Sports Minister Kofi Adams welcomed the development, commending the company for its bold investment in sports. “As we approach Accra 2026, we are happy to announce a strong partner that has come in at this level to support the championships,” he said.
The Minister assured that transparency will remain a priority:“We will ensure the process is transparent so that companies that take up this responsibility also see value in their investment.”
Meanwhile, the Marketing Manager of Hoshii International emphasized the company’s vision behind the partnership, noting that it is focused on enhancing athlete performance and supporting long-term sports development.
She added that their flagship X1 Energy Drink is certified and safe for athletes, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to health, performance, and excellence.
