Caleb Yirenkyi’s quality stood out yet again as Nordsjaelland’s late strike, for a second game running, earned them a point at home in a 1-1 draw against Aarhus.
The home side found themselves trailing after the half-hour mark when Patrick Mortensen provided a delicate finish to hand Aarhus the lead, heading into the break.
However, with seven minutes to end the game, Nordsjaelland hit back through Ivorian forward Levy Nene, who finished off a Caleb Yirenkyi assist.
The result means that Aarhus move joint top of the table with 57 points alongside Midtjylland, while Nordsjaelland remain third on 45 points.
However, Yirenkyi’s assist took him to six for the season in the league, racking up his goal involvements to eight in 28 league outings.
The 20-year-old was played out of position at the heart of defence but maintained his composure and showed his class with 83 touches, seven clearances, four key passes, and two big chances created.
