Jeremiah Azu delivered a sensational performance to clinch the men’s 60 metres title at the European Indoor Athletics Championships, storming to victory in emphatic fashion and confirming his status as one of Europe’s fastest sprinters.

The British sprinter exploded out of the blocks and never looked back, crossing the line first in a blistering time to secure his maiden European indoor crown. Azu’s execution in the final was near flawless, combining lightning-fast reaction, smooth acceleration and strong top-end speed to leave his rivals trailing.

Competing against a stacked field of elite European sprinters, Azu showed remarkable composure under pressure. His dominance was evident from the early rounds, where he comfortably progressed through the heats and semi-finals, laying down a marker ahead of the final showdown.

In the final, Azu produced his best run of the championships, powering through the middle phase of the race and pulling clear in the closing metres to seal gold in convincing style. The victory capped a superb indoor campaign for the sprinter, who has shown consistent improvement throughout the season.

Speaking after the race, Azu expressed pride in his achievement, describing the title as a reward for months of hard work and sacrifice. He also credited his coaching team and support system for helping him peak at the right moment.

The triumph adds another major milestone to Azu’s growing résumé and strengthens his credentials ahead of the upcoming outdoor season, where he will be aiming to transfer his indoor form onto the global stage.

With his electric performance at the European Indoor Championships, Jeremiah Azu has firmly announced himself as a major force in sprinting — and one to watch as the season unfolds.
