The Men’s 110m Hurdles at the 2026 Prefontaine Classic will feature the reigning World Champion and reigning Olympic Champion in the discipline. Add in a former national champion with multiple global medals, and the straightaway at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon will heat up with the best hurdlers in the world.
Grant Holloway (Chesapeake, Virginia) is a two-time Olympic medalist – earning gold in Paris and silver in Tokyo – and a six-time World Champion. Holloway’s three consecutive outdoor World Championships in the Men’s 110m hurdles came in Doha, Eugene, and Budapest. In the indoor 60m hurdles discipline, Grant has won World Championships in Belgrade, Glasgow, and Nanjing. His career-best time of 12.81, set in Eugene in 2021 during the semifinals of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field, still stands as the Hayward Field record. He also holds the world record in the indoor 60m hurdles with a time of 7.27, achieved at the 2024 U.S. Championships in Albuquerque. Over the course of his Diamond League career, he has recorded nine victories, including the 2022 Diamond League Final. At the University of Florida, Grant was an eight-time NCAA champion for the Gators. Grant won the 2024 Prefontaine Classic with a time of 13.03, which was a world lead at the time.
Cordell Tinch (Green Bay, Wisconsin) enters the outdoor track and field season after a career campaign in 2025. Tinch won five Diamond League events last season and capped the year by capturing his first World Championship in Tokyo. After starting his collegiate career at Kansas with a Big 12 title, Cordell set the NCAA D2 record books ablaze at Pittsburg State. He won the 2023 NCAA D2 Indoor and Outdoor Championships in the men’s short hurdles events. Tinch holds seven of the top ten indoor 60m hurdles times in NCAA D2 history, and his 12.96 outdoor 110m hurdles time in 2023 is the fastest ever by a collegian. Cordell’s talents go beyond the track and leap into the field as well. He is still the Wisconsin high school record holder in the triple jump, 14.99m (49’ 2.25”). Last month, Tinch reached a new career best in the long jump with a mark of 8.29m (27’ 2.5”).
Daniel Roberts (Atlanta, Georgia) returns to Hayward Field, where he achieved his personal best of 12.96 in the finals of the 110m hurdles at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field. After securing his spot on Team USA for the Paris Olympic Games, Roberts would go on to capture a silver Olympic medal. His first Olympic medal adds to his global medal collection, which includes the bronze medal from the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest. Daniel turned professional after a stellar junior season at the University of Kentucky, where he won the SEC Championship and finished second at the NCAA Championships – just two one-hundredths of a second behind Holloway. Roberts finished his collegiate career as a four-time All-American for the Wildcats. At the 2019 USA Track & Field Championships, Daniel would earn his first national title by defeating Holloway by just over one-tenth of a second.
The Prefontaine Classic will take place on Friday, July 3rd, and Saturday, July 4th, 2026.
A Diamond Discipline, the Men’s 110m Hurdles, is scheduled for Saturday, July 4th.
