The Woodhalls will celebrate the 4th of July in Eugene! After both winning national championships at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon last summer, Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall will return to headline fields in their respective events at the 2026 Prefontaine Classic.

Tara Davis-Woodhall (Frisco, Texas) is the reigning Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion in the Women’s Long Jump. She’ll headline a field at the 2026 Prefontaine Classic, jumping into a pit where she has enjoyed great success. Davis-Woodhall is the defending Prefontaine Classic champion and has won three consecutive outdoor U.S. national titles, all at Hayward Field. At the 2025 USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships, she recorded her best-ever mark at the venue with a jump of 7.12m (23’ 4.5”).

Tara also captured the 2021 NCAA title at Hayward Field while competing for the University of Texas, winning with a jump of 6.70m (21’ 11.75”). Her career-best mark is 7.18m (23’ 6.5”), set at the 2024 USA Track & Field Indoor Championships. She followed that performance by winning the world indoor title later that year in Glasgow.

Hunter Woodhall (Syracuse, Utah), a five-time Paralympic medalist, will compete in the Para 100m at the 2026 Prefontaine Classic. Woodhall first emerged on the global stage at age 16, winning silver in the 400m T44 and bronze in the 200m T44 at the 2015 Para Athletics World Championships in Doha. He later competed collegiately at the University of Arkansas, earning All-America honors three times as a member of the Razorbacks’ 4x100m relay team.

Paralympic Games, Woodhall reached the top of the podium in Paris. He also earned bronze as part of the 4x100m universal relay team at the Paris Games. Last July, Woodhall set a then-world best of 45.70 in the 400m T62. He currently holds the American records in both the 100m T62 (10.75) and 400m T62 (45.79).

The Prefontaine Classic will take place on Friday, July 3rd, and Saturday, July 4th, 2026. A Diamond Discipline, the Women’s Long Jump, is scheduled for Saturday, July 4th. The Para Sprint events are also scheduled for Saturday, July 4th.

Tickets, VIP Experience Packages, and Accommodations packages are now on sale at www.preclassic.com.
