Jamaica’s own Shericka Jackson and Kishane Thompson came through in the women’s 200m and men’s 100m as expected at the Racers Grand Prix 2025 in Kingston on Saturday (7 June).
In her second 200m of the campaign, five-time Olympic medallist Jackson cruised to victory in a season best of 22.53 over Audrey Leduc of Canada (22.80) to delight the home crowd at the National Stadium.
Thompson followed suit later in the evening, also clocking a season best of 9.88 in his first appearance at the annual track and field meet – good for the world’s fourth fastest time in 2025.
The Paris 2024 silver medalist held off fellow Games finalist and last year’s winner Oblique Seville, who crossed the line in 9.97 in the Jamaican showdown.
Tina Clayton topped the women’s 100m in 10.98 while Bryan Levell won the men’s 200m in a wind-aided time of 19.79 seconds.
