The Para Athletics Association of Ghana (PAAG) has announced the official schedule for its nationwide talent identification program, a strategic initiative aimed at discovering and nurturing the country’s next generation of para athletes.
The program, designed to cover multiple regions across Ghana, will provide aspiring athletes with opportunities to showcase their potential in various para athletics disciplines. Selected participants will gain access to structured training, professional coaching, and resources to help them compete at national and international levels.
“This initiative is about creating pathways for all talented athletes with disabilities,” a spokesperson for PAAG said. “Our goal is to identify, develop, and support athletes who can proudly represent Ghana on the global stage.”
The nationwide program is part of PAAG’s broader mission to strengthen Ghana’s presence in international para athletics competitions, including the World Para Athletics Championships and the Paralympic Games. Officials highlighted that the program is not only about talent identification but also about promoting inclusion, resilience, and excellence through sport.
The announced schedule includes visits to key regions, with dates and venues made available to the public to ensure maximum participation. Athletes, coaches, and local sports authorities are encouraged to collaborate in order to identify and support emerging talent.
Through this initiative, the PAAG aims to lay the foundation for sustainable growth in Ghanaian para athletics, providing aspiring athletes with the tools, guidance, and motivation needed to reach their full potential and shine on the world stage.
