Carlos Queiroz has officially touched down in Accra to begin his role as head coach of the Ghana national football team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The experienced tactician arrived on Tuesday, April 22, 2026, marking the start of a crucial short-term assignment aimed at guiding Ghana through the global showpiece.
He is expected to be formally unveiled on Thursday, April 23, at 1:00 PM during a press conference at the Alisa Hotel.
At the event, Queiroz will outline his vision, tactical approach, and immediate plans for the team as preparations intensify ahead of the tournament in June.
The Portuguese coach has signed a four-month deal, underlining the urgency and focus on delivering results at the World Cup.
Queiroz will be supported by his trusted assistant, Roger De Sa, alongside three additional backroom staff members, forming a technical team with vast international experience.
He takes over from Otto Addo, whose tenure ended following a string of disappointing results in recent friendly matches.
Ghana, drawn in Group L, will be aiming to make a strong impression as the Black Stars seek to reassert themselves on football’s biggest stage.
